Community: Covid-19 has affected the community immensely so it’s easy to believe that all is hopeless, but looking at the big picture and giving a hand to our community can bring hope back to us.

Not many people can admit it, but communities are suffering greatly economically, mentally, and physically due to Covid-19. Small businesses are losing money and workers are losing their jobs at a rate that few have ever witnessed in their lifetimes. It’s a complex devastation that causes a large chain of effects which in the long run will affect everyone in the community. That doesn’t mean there is no hope of life getting better for the people feeling the full weight of this situation.
When we give in to our bad habits of seeing no hope in assisting the people that need it most it makes the virus more likely to spread, so it is important we help these people during this time. Luckily, it has never been easier to help! With inventions like google, one search will find websites such as californiavolunteers.ca.gov, a program that supports the people in local communities that are in need of food, cleaning, donations, and even just emotional support. The website that was just listed isn’t the only source that can be used to give a helping hand. Volunteering events can be organized by cities and even just by anyone that wants to make the community a better place during this time. Socialization is very important to people and socializing with your neighbors can do wonders for the mental health of everyone in the community.
With the ongoing pandemic, it is very easy to give in to negative thoughts, especially about how we can’t do anything about all the chaos going on outside. If you look at the bigger picture you can see that that is not, in fact, true. There are so many options for everyone to choose from on how they would like to help their community. So many people can use help from others and it is clear that they are reaching out for a hand to pull them up, so it’s recommended to support your community and make this world shine again.
