The Riverside Poly softball team has had a prosperous season so far. As the 2023 Ivy league champs, for the 6th year in a row, the team is working to win another title this season. They are in a great position to win it all with their incredible record and unbeatable teamwork.
The team is extremely close this year and has bonded deeply, contributing to their success. For senior Miranda De Nava, there is nothing better than “representing Poly and having a team that is so much fun to play with.” This season the team is undefeated in league and is grateful to have both an amazing defense and offense which has been vital to their achievements thus far. They started the season off strong with their success at the Redlands Tournament where they continued their undefeated status.
This year the team is led by senior Miranda De Nava, a UC Berkeley softball commit. De Nava will be attending UC Berkeley next year on a softball scholarship. She is a four year softball player who has played for the last eleven years. With 197 strikeouts and an ERA (Earned Run Average) of 0.99. De Nava is one of the best high school pitchers in the state. She is “thrilled to be playing next year” at Berkeley and is so grateful to be continuing her softball career. De Nava is “so excited to be spending the next four years playing” the game she loves.
The Poly softball team has high hopes for the season and is hoping for yet another league title. As one of the top ten teams in the state, they hope to go far this year. As the season unfolds, De Nava and the rest of the Bear’s softball team can’t wait to see what they will achieve this year.
