HARDWORKING: Will is a hardworking person who has stayed up late nigh after night in order to achieve his dreams.
William Firetag is a senior here at Poly High School who is about to complete his four years as a Poly Bear. His educational journey still is not over though, as he will be attending Cal Poly Pomona for Mechanical Engineering.
In his four years here Will has taken part in Mock Trial, Photography Club, Cross Country, and the Track and Field. Will has shown his athletic prowess through the years; being the top pole vaulter in his junior year and going to CIF once again this year. In high school, Will has made so many friends and says he is glad that he has stuck with them since his sophomore year, hoping to stay close into the future. He also shares that his senior year was his favorite year of high school because of how bittersweet it is being with all of his friends for the last time and because he was able to relax more this year than the rest.
Will believes high school has been quite ironic, being the longest yet also shortest four years of your life. He is happy to have been lucky enough to have attended poly and participated in so much here. This year’s highlight was his track and field and Cross Country seasons because of how he was able to hang out with his friends while doing stuff he enjoys. Running and pole vaulting alongside his friends made him feel like he was young again.
Will has had a lot of teachers throughout high school and says Mr. Schiller was his favorite. He shared a bond with Mr Schiller through the Honors and AP chemistry classes he took and eventually returning as a teacher’s assistant. ¨He is a nice and understanding teacher that made me love chemistry my sophomore and junior years.¨ He joined photography club to spend time with his friends and favorite teacher.
¨In ten years from now I see myself doing work with cars whether it be building them or even designing them.¨ Will has had a passion for cars since he was younger and is fascinated by how the car parts all work together and drives them as one his favorites pass times.
