WELCOME: Ms. Ramos is sure to be a positive addition to Poly’s staff.
The new school year has brought a plethora of changes, one of many being our new counselor Ms. Ramos. “My main goal is to get to know my students, I want each and every one of them to know they have me as a reliable adult in their life and I strive for them to know I am here to support them when it comes to academics and emotional support” Ms. Ramos says lovingly. .
Her main goal for the school year is to have a positive impact on all the people she comes in contact with. Ms. Ramos strives to be a positive influence on students’ lives being a reliable role model. She wants students to feel comfortable in coming to her for emotional and academic support. Her peers describe her as very personable and relatable which she hopes will make her an accessible resource for academic and emotional support from others. Every day brings new challenges which allow her to grow as an educator and makes her proud of her work.
Ms. Ramos is a Poly Highschool alumni. Her counselor Mr. Johnston, who still works here at Poly, had helped motivate her to succeed academically. He had a big role in making her realize that school counseling was something she wanted to pursue professionally. She went to Cal State San Marcos and received a degree in Sociology in 2018 and got her Masters in School and Professional Counseling at Cal State San Bernardino. She had also been an intern at Etiwanda Intermediate School but this is her first job at as a counselor
“Poly has always had a special place in my heart, what I like most is seeing the changes and growth the school has made since I left, but I also love the nostalgia I feel when I walk through the halls or see familiar faces like The Avilas, Mr.Johnston, Mrs.Mejia, Mr.Mckinnie, and everyone else I was able to make memories with here as a student” Ms. Ramos states.. She looks forward to getting to know everyone at Poly and the new experiences the coming school years will bring. Ms. Ramos is an excellent addition to the Poly Staff and will help many students throughout her career.
