CROY: Poly Bears bid farewell to Class of 2023 Senior, Kayden Croy.
As the 2022-2023 school year comes to an end, Poly Seniors come closer to a part of life where high school isn’t the priority anymore. While some of the 2023 graduating class might not seem too knowing of what their future holds, senior Kayden Croy is slowly paving her future and learning to move forward in her life.
Croy is best known around campus for her fun and caring personality, her involvement in ASB, and her title as the Poly Girls Varsity Volleyball captain. The highlights of her senior year were playing volleyball for Poly and the homecoming parade. Her favorite school dance was her Freshman Midwinter. Funnily, she can’t seem to remember the physical atmosphere, but can’t forget the “good vibes” that surrounded her all through the night. “The music was good,” she said, “and I do remember that Dancing Queen played, which was a really fun moment.” One famous aspect of Poly High dances is the musical quality, and Croy personally believes that throughout her high school career, the DJing has stayed “steady.” Croy also enjoyed Poly’s 2023 prom at the Aquarium of the Pacific. “The venue was cool,” she said, “and it was very memorable. There was a lot to do, and a ton of people were there.”
With moving on comes having to reminisce, one thing Kayden Croy knows makes graduating “bittersweet.” Croy will miss her “closest friends” the most, and “being able to see them in all of her classes.” Her favorite subject this year was Psychology, which entertained her greatly. It has amazed her how fast time has flown by. “Coming into freshman year, I was excited and nervous at the same time,” Croy commented on her first high school experience. “Graduating will be like the end of an era.” Though leaving might seem a little saddening to the senior, she is excited for what her future will bring her.
Croy will be attending Concordia University of Irvine in Fall of 2023 with an undecided major. She has a feeling though, that she might want to pursue a career in sports management. According to Croy, “Poly itself has a very community oriented culture,” and she wants to make sure that any career she involves herself in will have a healthy environment and opportunities to work with others. With a sports management major, she would want to work with professional sports teams and help with more “behind the scenes stuff” that “makes them the programs they are.” She would love to work with an NBA team.
Kayden Croy might be leaving Poly, but the Poly spirit will never leave her. We Bears wish all seniors luck in their future endeavors!
