ADMINISTRATION: Principal Wade Coe was promptly asked to leave Poly after six years of administrative duties.
Poly high school principal Wade Coe has been put on administrative leave, effective Tuesday, May 7. Coe is being replaced by retired principal, Daniel Brooks.
Just one month prior to the conclusion of the school year, Daniel Brooks, previously Riverside King High School’s principal, replaced Coe as head of the school. According to The Press Enterprise, Coe was asked to leave Poly’s principal position and will be demoted to a teaching position next year. Coe stated that “he does not know why he was removed a little more than a month before graduation on June 12.”
Brooks will be working as Poly’s interim principal for the six final weeks of the school year. Brooks has worked in the education field for 38 years and was asked to come out of retirement after two years to assist Poly. “I will be acting as an interim principal. I will be back to retirement, back to my grandchildren and back to my golf game in six weeks,” Brooks said.
The district has already begun the search for a new principal.
