REPUBLICANS: Mitt Romney is the best choice for the 2012 Presidential Election.

Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney is the ideal man to be President of the United States, Leader of the Free World. Both his personal victories and his impressive set of past political accomplishments, coupled with President Barack Obama’s inability to enact national improvement, make Romney the best choice for this election.
Personally, Romney is a husband, father of five sons and grandfather to 18 grandchildren. He came from a hardworking and dedicated family: a mother who gave up her dream career as an actress to be a devoted wife and mother and a humble father who worked his way up the economic (oil industry) and political ladder. Romney and his family faced many hardships in their personal lives, including Ann Romney’s (Romney’s wife) diagnosis of multiple sclerosis in 1998 and breast cancer in 2008. Mrs. Romney credits her husband for aiding in her success against these illnesses and is the first to say how loving and committed he is to everyone around him. In a speech she gave at the Republican National Convention, Mrs. Romney said, “From the time we were first married, I have seen him spend countless hours helping others. I’ve seen him drop everything to help a friend in trouble.” His generosity, love of giving a helping hand and absolute dedication to his family and community make Romney the perfect role model for Americans.
In regards to his economic success, he is incomparable. His victories in helping many struggling companies and new companies (not to mention building up his own) show how economically experienced he is and how well he understands business, characteristics crucial for a president in these difficult economic times. He helped or played a role in the building of companies such as Staples, Steele Dynamics, Alliance Laundry, Bain & Co., Brookstone, Wesley Jessen, GoCom, GT Bicycles and Sports Authority. These economic skills were further put to the test when Romney was placed in charge of managing the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. Surrounded by scandals and full of fleeing sponsors, the event seemed close to collapse. In an incredibly short time period, Romney was able to balance the budget and restore confidence. Bill Clinton, former Democratic President and supporter of the Obama campaign, actually praised Romney’s economic accomplishments when he said that Romney is “a man who’s been governor and had a sterling business career” that “crosses the qualification threshold.” While this may not be an official endorsement of Romney (as the Democrats and Clinton pushed after the statement was made on CNN), it is still admiration of Romney’s success.
On to his political past, his remarkable balance of Massachusetts proves just how used to both economic and political turmoil Governor Romney really is. By making difficult (and often controversial) decisions, he reformed consolidated government programs, cut red tape for small businesses, eliminated a $3 billion deficit without raising taxes and battled to bring jobs to the state. During Romney’s time in office, the Massachusetts unemployment rate decreased from 5.6 percent to 4.7 percent, a massive issue concerning the economic state of the entire country at the time.
This all leads to what his plans are for the United States of America. Romney knows that the American government cannot afford to continue to provide constant bailouts and spending programs forever, and therefore he has a plan that depends not on the government’s pocket, but on the dedicated and hardworking Americans that make up the majority of the U.S. population. He mostly wants to end the middle class struggle against falling incomes, push American prosperity and create millions of jobs all during a four-year term. This plan includes five points: American energy independence, improvement of American trade, improvement of the skills of the middle class, cutting the deficit and championing small business.
The first point, American energy independence, is based on utilizing the natural resources of the continent all while creating more jobs for American citizens. Point two, improvement of American trade, aims to develop new markets for American goods. Point three, providing skills to the American people, is all about improving public schools and increasing access to higher levels of education. Point four, cutting the deficit, will be accomplished by cutting down big government and controlling the national debt. Last but certainly not least is point five, in which he will encourage small business by cutting back the red tape that prevents growth and hiring.
Romney will make the ideal President. His economic know-how and superb political accomplishments prove his worth and his ability to rule this country in a way that frees the American people from their economic struggle without draining the government budget. Support Romney, support a stronger United States.
