Peer pressure can encourage new experiences such as trying new foods with friends or doing something fun you would not normally do (i.e. roller-skating, rock climbing, boating, etc). But though the power of peer pressure can be used for positive purposes, it usually ends with negative results. Poorly-reasoned ideas are made sensible ideas, and rash decisions are made final decisions.
In your case, your friends pressure you in a negative way. Communicating to them that you are not interested in their activities may help if they truly value you as a friend. You should keep in mind that you do not have to go along with what they are doing; your actions are entirely your own. If you tell them you do not want to do something, they cannot force you to do it. But keep in mind that this works both ways; there is little you can do to stop your friends from committing these acts if they are determined to do so. On the bright side, when they get caught and put in jail, you can be out with other friends
who encourage you to make better choices.
