Like you, your ex-boyfriend is probably hurt. Just look at the situation from his point of view. One day he is in a relationship with you and believes that everything is going great; the next day it’s all over, and he cannot do anything to stop it. He needs time to heal so that he can forgive your parents, you and even himself for the abrupt end of your relationship. At the moment, he does not want to be just another one of your friends; he still wants to be that special person in your life.

Everyone heals from a break-up in a different way, so try not to fixate your entire life on trying to figure out when exactly he is going to snap back into his old self. Let him come to terms with his emotions — yes, guys feel and show emotions — and in the meantime, live your life. Hang out with your friends, participate in your extracurricular activities and don’t let anything get you down.
