Your problem is something that many high school students face every day, so believe me when I say you’re not alone in this. Though some people know what they want to be in the future at a young age, many others don’t find out until adulthood. Not everyone knows with absolute certainty “Oh, I want to be a neurosurgeon!” and happily skips off to med school for 12 years.
Start researching. Begin by listing activities you like — for example, a sport or a hobby — and find out if there is any job you are interested in that is related to those activities. You must have a dream that you want to fulfill. If you are graduating in a couple of months, take a few classes in college and explore different subjects. You are probably not as lost as you think you are. Just remember that it is wise to take small steps toward your goal.
Ultimately, what you become is your choice and your choice only. Whatever you decide to do, make sure it’s something you love. Then you will never work a day in your life.
