The Editors:

Contrary to popular belief, there really is a lot to do in Riverside. The Riverside Arts Walk is held every first Thursday of the month in Downtown. In October, Downtown hosts the Ghost Walk. During Christmastime, the Festival of Lights is held around the Mission Inn. The Dickens Festival takes place at the Convention Center in February. If you want to get your adrenaline pumping, the Adams Speedway has kart racing, drifting, time attack, pocket bikes, motorcycles and supermoto racing. If you love the outdoors, UCR is home to the beautiful Botanic Gardens, and Mt. Rubidoux offers scenic hiking. The Carlson Dog Park is great for dog owners and their furry companions. If you are looking for something indoors, try bowling at Arlington Lanes. If you would like to see a movie from the comfort of your own car, check out the Van Buren drive-in theater.

There are also some great little restaurants in Riverside. Try Don Jose’s or Olivia’s for Mexican; Dragon House, Monark Bistro and Table for 2 have delicious Asian cuisine; Pinnacle Peak is the place for great BBQ; stop at Backstreet or Sub Station for yummy sandwiches.

For shopping, Mrs. Tiggy Winkles offers great little trinkets. Downtown boasts some great antique shops as well. Dragon Marsh sells crystals, herbs, tea, incense, costumes and all sorts of interesting, mystical objects. The Downtown Farmers’ Market, which is held every Saturday from 8 A.M. – 1 P.M, is the ideal event to attend if you have been scouring the city looking for fresh, locally-grown produce.

What we are trying to say is that there is much to do in the little city of Riverside, if you only choose to look for it.
