I used to be a pretty shy person, so I know how hard it is to muster up the nerve to talk to other people, let alone a crush. Therefore, shy people have to show their worth in other ways in order for a person to respond to them, since they do not talk as often.

Getting to know a crush is something that requires small steps. The first step can be as small as saying hello to that person every day, whether he or she is in one of your classes or you see him or her elsewhere.  Maybe you have a talent or special personality trait that would allow your crush to see past your shyness and respect you for what you can do. This probably will not make him or her magically attracted to you, but grabbing the crush’s attention for one minute is a whole lot better than not grabbing the crush’s attention at all. This can be an icebreaker.

However, do not get too carried away with talking to your crush. The worst thing you can do is come off as creepy or invasive of your crush’s life. Remember, he or she has the right to shut you up if you get annoying. After all, you will be talking to a real person and not an all-forgiving fantasy.

Again, I cannot tell you how your crush will react to you but you must go into it as if you have no specific goal for talking to him or her. If you make it obvious that there is a sudden influx in the conversations you have, he or she may get a little leery. Plus, conversations become more memorable and worthwhile if they do not happen as often because you will be excited to talk to your person!

Good luck, and happy chatting!
