College applications are the ticket to freedom for most seniors. That being said, they are also a real pain. With the UCs requiring lengthy personal essays, it has become a time-consuming and stressful process to get all those necessary applications in. But despite all that, you do not need to panic about the process. In the UC’s case, the application deadline is November 30, right after Thanksgiving break. With the surplus of free time during break you will have plenty of time to write your essays and finish your applications. Once your applications are sent, make sure to wait until all possible acceptance letters are in before deciding on a college. It would be awful if you committed to one college only to find out that the college of your dreams also accepted you. Although being patient and waiting for all your acceptance letters is irksome, it will be well worth it if you end up getting into your top school. Since senior year is the most demanding year of your high school career, it can seem daunting to complete important applications while balancing academics. However, every class of seniors has done this before you and succeeded, so you can do it too. Being a senior is hard, but all this work will pay off!
