One of the hardest things about high school is peer pressure. People will always try to change the way you think. Ultimately what you do is your choice. Learning to stay true to who you are is one of the most difficult and most important parts of life. You could try compromising with them. Maybe instead of being a princess, just go with them to all the Homecoming festivities or, if Homecoming isn’t your cup of tea, offer to attend Prom with them. You never know – you might actually enjoy it! If these people are truly your friends, they will understand your feelings and hopefully back off soon. Do not be mean, but do stand up for how you feel, and don’t back down.
