You bring up an interesting point, Holy Frijoles. It really depends on how hardcore of a vegetarian you are. A lightweight vegetarian would probably pay more attention to the backside of the cardboard box, checking to make sure there are not any meat products in the crackers (which, if there were, would be really strange). Now, someone deeply rooted in the vegetarian cause may take one look at a bite-sized elephant or tiger and see right past the nutritional facts. Even though animal crackers do not contain any meat, they are representations of animals, especially exotic ones that are often exploited in the circus.
I do not know your exact reasoning behind being a vegetarian, but if you do it for the health benefits, then go ahead and snack on some animal crackers. However, be warned: due to the deliciousness of animal crackers, it is easy to become addicted to them and you might run into some side effects of having too many carbs.
