WILD: After a year of craziness from 2022, we don’t expect anything less for the upcoming year.
For someone who absorbs way too much media, I, Jaidyn Gayman (12), believe I am the most qualified to predict events that are to come in 2023.
Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly will break up: Since this relationship was presented to the public eye, the media has mocked and is entirely confused by the couple’s odd choices of excessive PDA (public displays of affection) on the red carpet. However, Megan has recently seemed to spend less time with him in public and even posted a recent Instagram with the caption: “currently seeking a girlfriend. Please submit applications.” This may be just a joke from Megan, but something about this odd couple tells me that they won’t last.
Kendall Jenner will get pregnant: As we all know, the Kardashian-Jenner family is constantly growing and adding new members. However, Kendall is the only Kar-Jenner that does not have a kid to take care of, and she is the most secretive in her relationships. However, this year I believe this will be her year in the public eye; I believe she could possibly come out with a public relationship or even start a family. I think the media will be shocked either way by any news having to do with this superstar model.
Excessive clothing layering: As we see trends from the 2000s starting to come back into style, excessive amounts of layering will probably see the spotlight again. Low-waisted jeans and millennial pink are just the first steps of what is going to be brought back to the table. I think the layering of tees will be the first we see with influencers. Tank tops over long sleeves, multiple belts, or summer dresses with jeans will follow, witnessing a rise in popularity this year.
Casual blue eyeshadow: Piggy-backing off of the last prediction, casual blue eyeshadow was also a staple in makeup during the 2000s. We have seen lip-gloss, skinny eyebrows, and pencil eyeliner become more popular in these past years, and it is only fitting that blue eyeshadow will follow in the same footsteps. I don’t think we will see it like we did in the 2000s with the bright and exaggerative colors, but rather, we will see a modern take on the look with muted tones, which will be paired with shimmer to pay an ode to the “classic” look.
As the new year begins, it is always fun to predict what the future has in store for us with trends and celebrity drama. So with that, cheers to the New Year and possible major moments for 2023!
