After an 11 years hiatus, beloved ska-punk/rock band No Doubt is back with their latest album Push and Shove and fans will not be disappointed.

Despite the decade-long gap since their last album (including lead singer Gwen Stefani’s crack at a solo career), No Doubt has produced an impressive new album very reminiscent of their Tragic Kingdom days. The band seems to have picked up right where they left off with their previous album Rock Steady.

The reggae influence that made the band so popular is still present in the album’s hit single “Settle Down” and the title track “Push and Shove.” The songs are a mix of No Doubt’s unique style and dance-worthy tunes today’s youth are so fond of.

Slower songs like “Easy” and “Sparkle” are reminiscent of their earlier tunes like “Simple Kind of Life” and “Underneath it All” with lyrics that speak to the fans and remind them how talented the band is at songwriting.

The only weak part of the album is that songs like “One More Summer” sound generic, like they could be by any of today’s mainstream bands. But overall, the album is No Doubt through and through.

Fans of the band rejoice for Push and Shove is a delicious treat.
