REVAMPED: The student store is “bearly” recognizable.

The Associated Student Body (ASB) recently finished renovating the student store. The new upgrades include a variety of new merchandise and food choices.
“We painted and got a whole bunch of new merchandise and we’re selling spirit wear now. We have more registers and more people working so the line moves faster. Also, we’re selling hot food now,” ASB secretary Lizzie Yeager (12) said.
The student store re-opened last week. It now features new spirit wear items, such as Poly shirts, sweatshirts and lanyards. The new merchandise is “everything you need to be a Poly Bear,” ASB Commissioner of Clubs Abbie Meneses (11) said.
The food at the student store has also been expanded.
“We have most of the same stuff, but we added more Cup-O-Noodles, Chex-Mix, Izze drinks, macaroni and cheese and Pirate’s Booty,” Yeager said.
ASB took control of the student store this year from the Athletics department and is making a profit from its newest investment.
“Our sales are over 100 dollars a day. We’re trying to increase school spirit and market our brand,” ASB Director Vanessa Douty said.
As a bonus, the money earned will be put back into Poly activities.
“[The student store will] increase revenue for student activities. It supports all groups on campus,” Douty said.
This way, the new and improved student store can be used to give back to the Poly community.
