STUDENT GOVERNMENT: New positions are appointed for the 2024-25 school year to serve the student body and bring ideas to life.
Each year, an Associated Student Body President is chosen along with multiple Vice Presidents, all with different tasks. This year, the board looks forward to a year filled with excitement, and they have awesome ideas to share. The next year will be filled with football games, dances, assemblies, and events for the student body to enjoy all put on by these students.
President: Kyle Rodillas
Next year, Rodillas is in charge of reading the school climate and working to improve it. He strives to “aim to make everything on campus more inclusive” and even “craft new events to cater to our students”. As ASB President, he has an important role on campus and an essential role in all planning tasks. His goal next year is to “make school events more affordable while also finding new events to implement at school in hopes of boosting morale and school culture.”
Vice President of Student Engagement: Elizabeth Chinchilla
Chinchilla is placed in charge of designing new, exciting, and innovative ideas to improve attendance at events and incentivize students to support their peers. She aims to “have the best student section in SoCal” and “keep the energy at 110% at all times.” Chinchilla highlights all that Poly has to offer, and exclaims that “ Poly has so many great things and she wants them to be highlighted.” With a new position, she looks forward to beginning a new chapter of creativity in student government.
Vice President of Public Relations: Cora Holmes
As an experienced member of ASB, Holmes is the Vice President of Public Relations which means creating flyers to share with the community, giving school board reports, and ensuring information is shared well. Holmes is “so excited to have an executive position in ASB next year to create a more welcoming environment.” Holmes loves to “be behind the scenes of events and see the results of her efforts.”
Vice President of Activities: Frida Blass
Blass has been appointed to the position of Vice President of Activities which “oversees, schedules, and plans all activities on campus” but puts more focus on dances and homecoming. She looks forward to holding an executive position. Blass is “thrilled to see what the new year brings and hopes to create an inclusive environment on campus”. She also works to continue to “promote Poly PRIDE” in all that she does.
VP of School Culture: Carly Barnard
Barnard has been appointed to another new position, which aims to target all audiences and create opportunities for new people. As a member of ASB for four years, she looks forward to working with this group and wishes to put in the work. Barnard claims her “favorite part of ASB is watching ideas come to life”. She also strives for inclusion in all she does and will work to “invite others to participate.”
