The first game of the Final Four, which pitted The Sky Lemeshes against Sky Lemesh (12) himself and his team, the E-lemonators, ended when the Sky Lemeshes ran out of juice first and the E-lemonators advanced to the winners bracket. In the other matchup, the Thunderballs squared off against the Jocks in a battle of two teams consisting mainly of football players. The Thunderballs outlasted their opponent when time expired and they had a five-to-one player advantage. Cody Palmer (12), the lone remaining Jock, almost made a basket that would have brought his entire team back on the court, but the Thunderballs’ Travis Schulte (12) deflected the shot with a ball of his own. The Thunderballs then clashed with the E-lemonators in the winners bracket matchup and, despite Makenna Lommons’ (12) dodging efforts when she was the last E-lemonator standing, won to clinch a berth in the finals. In the first elimination game, the Jocks overwhelmed the Sky Lemeshes and earned the chance to play the E-lemonators in the second elimination game. However, the E-lemonators proved to be too sour of an opponent to handle and defeated the Jocks, joining the Thunderballs in Thursday’s Finals.
