SHOCKING: The Black Parade isn’t dead after all!

Is this 2009 again, or has emo risen from the grave? As of December 20th, 2019, the emo trinity will finally be complete once again. For a while it was only Fall Out Boy and Panic! At the Disco, but My Chemical Romance (MCR) had yet to get back together up until their recent announcement of ending the hiatus and becoming a band again. The announcement was a world wide shock and fans are “Not Okay.”
There had been teasing remarks earlier this year by the Jonas Brothers of all people, that MCR had been rehearsing next to them in New York while on the KISS FM Breakfast Show. Fans scoffed at such a remark since the band had been separated for six years. On October 31st, on My Chemical Romance’s instagram page that hasn’t been active since their break up, a post was put up. The post had a black and white image with the words “RETURN,” at the top and a date on the corner. Lead singer Gerard Way also posted the same post on his personal account announcing a reunion concert on December 20th at the Shrine Hall in L.A. Tickets sold out within the first week of the announcement.
In Gerard Way’s last interview before ending things with the band, he expressed “When things start to succeed and go really well, that’s when a lot of people start to have an opinion and that’s when you run into struggle. Everybody had an opinion about what MCR should be. So it made it difficult to figure out what direction to take next. You get caught up in this trap of ‘Is it ever going to be good enough?’ It wasn’t fun to make stuff anymore. I think breaking up the band broke us out of that machine.”
Now in the year of 2019, all members of the band have had time to grow as individuals and sort out their priorities in life and not worry about what others think. So “Look alive sunshine…” as Dr. Deathdefying would say, because My Chemical Romance is back together.
