ART: The Made. is a local shop that promotes the various craftsmanship of community artists.

In the bustling atmosphere of California, it is rare to find a shop that encourages people to slow down and smell the coffee. However, the Made. — a small shop located at 6520 Magnolia Ave in Riverside — does exactly that. The store displays hundreds of peculiarities by local creators for the enjoyment of the community. The store contains items ranging from artwork to all natural hygienic products that are sold to financially support these local creators.
The store has two entrance points, the most convenient one located in a parking lot by a Jimmy Subs and a Vintage thrift store. The moment one enters the store, they are met with an array of scents from the soaps and coffee and greeted by the store’s hipster aesthetic. Artwork lies upon every inch of wall space, and the ceiling is equally surprising, with its coffee bag lining. Each side contains smaller art pieces such as cards, recycled bottles caps, and jewelry. There’s a section in the middle of the room with free coffee brought in by local lenders for one’s enjoyment, and the beans can be purchased and taken home. On the right, there is a room filled with another wave of art pieces. Further right, there are shelves that hold a multitude of spices and kitchen material for browsing through culinary bliss. Continuing further to the back of the store, there are wood works and handmade accessories for pets. From there a small back room holds the crocheted, knitted, and embroidered items, as well as numerous books. The Made. provides a much needed support system for small local businesses trying to expose their products. Supporting the Made. means prolonging the assistance to these creators and obtaining affordable eco-friendly products. If one is interested in either having their work presented in the store or browsing the products there, they can stop by from Monday through Sunday from 10am to 5pm.
