LOVE: Just “Close Your Eyes and Count to Ten,” because before you know it, Grouploves new album will be released!

By Sofia Anderson, Staff Writer

Grouplove is an indie rock band formed in 2009. With group members Hannah Hooper, Christian Zucconi, Sean Gadd, Andrew Wessen, and Ryan Rabin, they all add a very hippy vibe and boho twist to their music. From their untraditional song names to their meaningful lyrics, GroupLove has caught the hearts of their many fans. “Grouplove is a band I turn to in times of worry or anxiety. Their songs are just so calming for the soul and they have any kind of song you would like from soothing to something up beat that makes you wanna dance by yourself in the kitchen. I truly love this band,” says Makayla Anderson (9).

In 2016, the band released their breakthrough album, Big Mess. The album included songs “Welcome to Your Life,” “Do you Love Someone,” “Standing in the sun,” “Enlighten Me,” “Good Morning,” “Spinning,” “Cannonball,” “Traumatized,” “Heart of mine,” “Don’t Stop Making it Happen,” and “Hollywood.” They are also the writers of the mainstream song “Tongue Tied,” from one of their earlier albums, Never Trust a Happy Song

For all the hippies out there, we bring good news! As of January 8, 2020, Grouplove dropped their new hit single, “Deleter.” The song includes beats that will make one jump off their feet and dance like no one is watching. “I can’t help, but jam out to it in my car, windows rolled down and I’m just screaming the lyrics out the window and tapping my steering wheel. It is that good!” emphasizes Ava Garret (11).

“Deleter,” is the first taste to Grouplove’s new album coming later this year. Fans are eagerly waiting for the albums release date after seeing how much success “Deleter” had. We still have a “Ways to Go,” until the new album is released, but just keep “Bitin’ the Bullet,” until it is out.
