COMMEMORATION: Poly staff and ASB members have planned many exciting events for seniors to take part in as this last year of their high school lives nears its halfway point.
The Class of 2025 has been working hard throughout high school, and now that it’s their Senior year, they are seeing all their time and effort come to fruition. To celebrate their dedication over the past few years, Poly offers a myriad of activities specifically designed to make this last year as fun as possible.
Let’s start with the Winter activity that is just around the corner. Poly has planned a Senior Trip to Knott’s Berry Farm in early December. This activity will be a great opportunity for Seniors to get a day off from school and enjoy time with their friends at one of the local amusement parks in Southern California.
With recent changes implemented this year, activities such as these are being restricted from students until they fill out a form that requires them to sign a waiver stating they will not take part in any senior pranks of any kind, lest they want to be punished by not being allowed to participate in graduation. This new waiver comes in response to the fiasco the senior prank pulled last year proved to be. Due to the vandalism and destruction of last year’s events, they have made something clear: they are not scared to take away these enjoyable activities if this year’s Seniors prove to be less agreeable with the guidelines they have set out.
Along with the Knott’s Berry Farm excursion, Seniors will also get a chance to enjoy the Midwinter dance and Prom. With these being the last two dances for every Senior, there is the hope that these will be bigger and better than the last. It is important to live up to each of these activities and make the most of them, so you don’t leave yourself looking back longing that you had done more while you had the chance.
Finally, as a last hoorah to the amazing Class of 2025, the Poly family is planning a big trip. While this is still just a rumor, as nothing is set in stone, it has been said that the final trip will be a field trip to SeaWorld with a possible second stop included to make the most of the memories and moments we have with friends.
Apart from the school-sanctioned events, there are a ton of individual activities that make your Senior year worthwhile. There is so much freedom that comes with this transitioning period into adulthood, so all seniors should try to make the most of it. With college apps wrapping up, now more than ever we can have fun and make the most of these coming months. Go to sporting events, hang out with friends, and go to activities if you can; it should all be part of your high school experience!
