The Poly girls’ tennis team got off to an explosive start to its CIF run, defeating both Covina Gladstone in the first playoff matchup and Orange in the second round by the score of 15-3. Then, the team defeated Wilson 11-7 in its quarterfinal matchup. The Bears successful season ended with their semifinal defeat to North 11-7 on Wednesday, November 7. Throughout the season, the team was led by strong performances from singles players Caitlyn Heredia (12), Kate Weggeland (10) and Holland Shourds (9), and the doubles teams of Lacy Patton (11) and Marki Cardenas (11), Cat Mooney (11) and Sophia Helfand (9) and Valerie Cordova (12) and Rosette Sims (12).
