The Poly Girls’ Softball team (4-0) moved on to the finals of the Stu Penter Classic with an 8-5 quarterfinals victory over host Corona HS and a 5-0 shutout of Yucaipa HS in the semi-finals, both on Tuesday. Pitcher Janine Permecky (11) recorded six strikeouts on her way to a one-hit shutout, and went 4 for 4 in the batter’s box in the victory over Yucaipa. The Lady Bears play in the championship game at Butterfield Park in Corona at 7:00 PM this Friday against former Big VIII league rival Santiago HS (4-0).
