Poly 1 La Mirada 2
The Poly girls’ soccer team couldn’t come up with an equalizer in the waning minutes of the game and fell 2-1 to the La Mirada Matadores. After falling behind 2-0, Victoria Gama (11) put one in to bring Poly closer, but it wasn’t enough and the Lady Bears’ season and CIF-SS Division 4 playoffs came to a close. The team wasn’t without success, however, losing only one game in league play to easily take the Inland Valley League title and give head coach Jaimi Brewer a landmark 100th career coaching victory with a 5-0 steamrolling of Arlington HS on January 25th.
