15 March 2013: The boys’ tennis team competed against North High School in a league match Tuesday afternoon.  Although it competed at a high level, the team failed to pull away with a victory against cross-town rival Huskies, losing in a one sided match 1-17 at home.

After multiple successful matches, including an important 14-4 win in its league opener against Vista del Lago, the team did not play up to their usual standards.  Leading the ranks for the tennis team was the number one doubles team, Casey Elton (11) and Jack O’Kane (10), with the Bears’ only win.  Even though this was the team’s first league defeat, the future is bright as North was favored to win league.

The bears are now 2-5 with a 1-1 league record.  Their next match is at Murrieta Mesa Friday, March 15 at 3:15 p.m.
