THEATER: The Riverside Community Players are brining a new look to the theater.
By Madison Harris, Staff Writer
The historically rich community theater (located on 4026 Fourteenth Street) in Downtown Riverside, is due for some renovations in the near future. The Riverside Community Players have been around since 1925. They have persevered through multiple leasing and financial problems in order to provide the community with a place to partake in the theater culture.
The small Riverside Community Players theater, made to help the community come together and share their voices, is planning on having construction to give the theater a fresh 1950s look. They have a fundraiser set in place, with a goal of reaching 250,000 dollars by the end of the year. The renovations will include an upgrade to the theatre courtyard, a new fence, new marquee, mural graphics, and adjustments to the courtyard seating.
In the spirit of Christmas, the theater is showing the classic “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens during the holiday season. The showings are scheduled for December 13th and 14th at 7 PM and again on the 14th and 15th at 2pm.
