Everyone and their mother has either seen or heard of the hilariously inappropriate show Tosh.0, hosted by the fearless comedian Daniel Tosh. Now take the crude humor of Tosh.0 and put it into a cartoon with an actual plot structure. The result is Comedy Central’s new animated series Brickleberry, which follows a group of park rangers who fight to preserve both their jobs and the National Park itself.

Writers and creators Roger Black and Waco O’Guin do their best to have you regretfully laugh at every bigoted, stereotypical one-liner and raunchy joke they can possibly fit into a 22 minute runtime. As one would guess, Daniel Tosh,  also an executive producer of the show, employs his “manly” vocals as the voice of Malloy, an perverted, orphaned brown bear.

Having only viewed the pilot episode of this offensive, yet hysterical TV show I can not determine the magnitude of its staying power on the Comedy Central lineup. The show seems to get most of its laughs from quick one-liners that don’t contribute to the specific story. I don’t feel attached to the characters of Brickleberry like I do with characters of Family Guy or The Simpsons; therefore the only thing driving it is its bawdy humor. However, I felt the same way about Fox’s Bob’s Burgers, which is now on its third season. Brickleberry is an original new television show that has the potential to become a hit series and join the ranks of Archer, Family Guy and American Dad.
