TWINS: One of Poly’s beloved teachers may have a twin on campus.

By Tyler Demshki, Staff Writer

Matthew Schiller is a prestigious and well-known teacher at Poly High. An acclaimed AP Chemistry teacher, he received a Yale Educator award from the prestigious university. In addition to these accolades, he may also be in the possession of a doppelganger on campus.

Schiller’s uncannily similar-looking twin is student-teacher Blake Douglas. The main cause of this similarity is likely the two teachers’ bald heads and full beards, which, along with the shape of their faces, make them an astonishingly close match.

Douglas’s college degree is in Digital Media, though his qualifications for student teaching, achieved via accreditation exams, are in the sciences. Douglas is currently qualified to student-teach for biology and chemistry, and is currently doing so with biology teacher Jeffrey Jambretz. Douglas transferred to Poly from North at the start of the new semester, and enjoys teaching at the school. He specifically cited Poly’s campus as a cause for this preference, minus its seagulls. He also appreciates the balance that Poly has made between its focus on teaching and its focus on test scores, two things which are unfortunately not always linked. Overall, Douglas is enjoying his time at Poly, even if he does have to put up with students constantly remarking on his resemblance to Schiller.
