TECHNOLOGY: The iPhone 5 has many new features, a lot of which are flawed.

Apple’s new installment to the iPhone series is finally here and comes complete with a total makeover and an arsenal of new features. Some of the features work, while others leave more to be desired. Is the upgrade from an iPhone 4 to a 5 really worth it, or is it just another way for Apple to earn a quick buck?
Apple really put forth an effort in making improvements to, rather than just rebooting, the iPhone 4, the most prominent being the larger and brighter screen. The new 4-inch screen allows for more information to be viewed at once and can be optimized to be 18 percent brighter than that of the iPhone 4. Built-in wireless LTE technology has also been added to improve the overall network speed. Another key improvement to the iPhone 5 is overall audio and speaker quality. There are three microphones and new-noise blocking technology located in the phone for improved call quality. Newly designed headphones have also been added to the package, which are designed to fit the ear more comfortably than past versions. One of the more noticeable upgrades is the camera. It has better HDR capabilities, can take high quality pictures even faster and now supports panoramic photos of up to 240 degrees.
However, the iPhone 5 is far from perfect as it comes packed with many new flaws and annoyances. The most common reported flaw concerns the Verizon network, on which it seems that connecting to Wi-Fi still racks up data, leading to some very high and unwanted bills. Many iPhone 5s also came with faulty chargers that either charge very slowly or are unable to register a connection. The new iPhone also comes with a couple of rattling issues, as the new thin casing causes many components to shake loose and light to leak through some of the phone’s cracks. The biggest issue of them all, however, is the new adapter. This new adapter will make your iPhone unable to connect to any iHomes, carjacks or any old iPod accessory. It will run the customer around 35 dollars to buy something to make the new iPhone compatible. Overall the phone comes with a plethora of new features and is the most durable iPhone yet.
