I LOVE KANYE: Amid divorce drama, Kanye West continues to diss beau of newly single Kim Kardashian.
Despite filing for divorce in January of 2021, a Los Angeles judge had just declared Kim Kardashian legally single on the morning of March 2. Having been split up for a little over a year, it would seem that both parties had officially moved on, considering the fact that they had both begun seeing other people. While this may be true in Kardashian’s case, West has decided to wallow in the remains of the broken relationship.
At the beginning of their split earlier last year, everything seemed to be calm, and the two celebrities had appeared to be working together to co-parent their four children, North (8), Saint (6), Chicago (4), and Psalm (2). It wasn’t until further into the year, more specifically October, that the situation distressed West.
On October 9, 2021, Kardashian guest hosted an episode of Saturday Night Live alongside comedian Pete Davidson. In this episode, Kardashian and Davidson acted out a sketch in which they were the two main characters of Aladdin. With Kardashian as Jasmine and Davidson as Aladdin, the pair shared an on-screen kiss, sparking dating rumors.
After Kardashian-Davidson seemingly confirmed their relationship, West decides that he wants Kardashian back. During a live performance of his popular song “Runaway,” a lyric that originally read “Baby, I got a plan / run away as fast as you can” West proudly sings out “I need you to run right back, baby, more specifically, Kimberly.”
Attempting to win his ex-wife over, West buys a Ram truck and fills the bed with an assortment of flowers for Valentine’s Day. The side of the truck reads “MY VISION IS KRYSTAL KLEAR.”
Taking to Instagram to show his 15 million followers just what he thought of his ex-wife’s new partner, West compiled a series of posts in which he refers to Davidson as “SKETE” and announces that the 28-year old comedian will “NEVER MEET [HIS] FAMILY.” In what may give the impression of a joke, the 44-year old rapper’s posts can be analyzed as a harmful and manipulative tactic towards Kardashian. In a screenshot later shared by West of a conversation with Kardashian, she claims that West is “creating a dangerous and scary environment,” and even mention that she fears “someone will hurt Pete.”
While some may find his behavior humorous or heartfelt, West’s actions are more harmful than anything else. If West wants to win the media personality back, publicly embarrassing and manipulating Kardashian is not the way to go. After openly recognizing his mental health issues in his Netflix documentary “Jeen-Yuhs,” his endeavors must be acknowledged more seriously as an ask for help rather than a light-hearted Instagram dump.
