IMPRESSIVE: Poly Women’s Water Polo fought for a second round CIF spot against Vista Murrieta high school.

Poly’s Women’s Water Polo team played diligently throughout the entire season, but unfortunately their winning streak ended on Thursday, February 10 after their second CIF game. Throughout this challenging game, our girls team played hard against Vista Murrieta in order to secure that second round spot. With less than 30 seconds left Tea Summers (11), our team’s keeper, came out of her box and made an amazing pass to Willa Summers (12), who got the ball and shot it over the opposing keeper’s head into the net. This play provided a chance for the girls to tie up the game and go to overtime. According to Mark Ybarra (12) “It was back and forth the entire game, but unfortunately Vista Murrieta got away with the win in the end. The girls played their hearts out and had an overall great season.” The final score of his close game was a shocking 7-8.

The team finished with a 3-0 all league record. The girls had an unbelievable season and worked very hard to get to CIF. Although we unfortunately lost this game, the girls worked together and kept giving it their all until the very end. The bear family is extremely proud of what the girls have accomplished this year and we look forward to seeing what they have in store for us next year.
