The 14th Annual College and Career Fair, presented by Bank of America, was held on September 27, 2018 at the Tyler Mall. The fair gives thousands of students opportunities to receive free financial aid information and career advice from a wide variety of representatives from colleges and local businesses. According to the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce, there were over 180 colleges and universities represented at the fair, not including the numerous military institutions and businesses.

One purpose of College and Career Fair is to promote the idea of college to high school students. “The college fair helped me gather my thoughts when applying to college,” Ashley Coria (11) said. The fair advertises colleges to prospective students by listing degrees and extracurriculars offered throughout different campuses. Furthermore, the College and Career Fair also gives students a chance to establish relationships with employers and discuss internship opportunities. “The fair made it easy to talk face to face with businesses and get my résumé out there,” CBU junior, Arthur Vargas, said. Instead of submitting a résumé online, the fair allows a more personal approach when speaking to potential employers. The College and Career Fair allows students to know if they are making the correct decision regarding their future educational and career opportunities.
